Mage build

Choose a Fire plan around Flamestrike and Pyroblast, or a Frost plan around Blizzard, using the current offers and talent prerequisites. These directions come from published class material and video examples. The dated official card showed 215 HP and Fireball as the default opening.

Evidence checked 2026-10-28: the saved official Mage crop shows 215 HP and Fireball; the research records 13 spell icons on that card. An icon count is not a damage ranking, and the default opening does not describe every talented Mage.

Fire plan: keep a coherent area-damage direction

The Mage class guide and the earlier public build research describe Fire/Flamestrike with Pyroblast. Start with Fireball on a fresh character, then compare those Fire choices when offered. This is a route for a player who wants that spell package, not a tested fastest-clear claim.

  • Improve the available opening attack while the intended Fire choices are missing. A random draft cannot promise Flamestrike or Pyroblast at a specific level.
  • When a Fire choice appears, compare its tooltip with your current damage problem. Keep the damage plan coherent rather than assuming an extra unrelated attack is always better than an upgrade.
  • If damage taken ends the run, take a defensive option and keep room to move. Completing the build on paper is less useful than reaching the next boss.

Frost alternative and trees

Arcane, Fire, and Frost are the three trees recorded in the class material. The Frost/Blizzard direction is an alternative when you want to compare a different spell package. Inspect the current Frost and defensive tooltips rather than copying Fire prerequisites into that tree. Arcane is another recorded tree, but this page does not provide a fully sourced Arcane allocation.

Holdherhand’s Frost Mage Naxxramas example was uploaded 24 October 2026; the game version is unknown in the research record. The earlier research also names a 27 October Fire/Flamestrike clip, but its video ID is not independently resolved here, so this page does not supply a guessed link.

Progression, gear, and racial tradeoffs

Each class can earn up to 51 talent points. A capstone can alter opening conditions; Fireball is the dated default, not a reason to label every other starter as an outdated client. Use the talent reference for point rules and the current tooltip for an actual prerequisite.

Compare survival support while learning the route, then inspect gear that supports the selected spell package. The racial table provides cooldown, damage, movement and progression text to compare, with exact numbers marked official single-source. It does not prove a highest-DPS Mage race. The community combat image below illustrates a different rebuild and is not proof of official Mage performance.

Sources, version, and using this plan

The route names and spell pairings above are attributed to the public Mage class guide and the class material collected on 28 October 2026. They are published planning examples, not an official ranking or a tested damage comparison.

Watch the public Mage example — uploaded 2026-10-24; the game version is not established by the research record. A video upload date is not a patch number. The menu facts come from Aethus’s original game, a single official source; see the dated version record before applying an older talent route.

Questions

Is Fireball always the Mage starter?

Fireball was on the default official card read on 2026-10-28. Talents can change an opening, so use the selected talent’s text when comparing developed characters.

Should I choose Fire or Frost?

The attributed Fire plan looks at Flamestrike and Pyroblast; the published Frost example uses a different direction around Blizzard. Choose according to available cards and current tooltips, not an unverified global damage ranking.

Sources and verification limits

Checked 2026-10-28. Two independent publishers are needed to call a claim confirmed. A menu, screenshot and script from Aethus count as one publisher. Exact menu HP, racial values and dated build identifiers are single-source observations. A video or a general game report does not independently verify every number. Missing values remain unreported; disagreements stay attributed.
