Priest build

Last checked: 2026-10-28 · Sources and verification limits

A Priest plan can use a Shadow damage direction or a Discipline shield-and-Penance direction. Start from the dated 170 HP and default Smite card, then choose according to whether damage or survival is holding the run back. The route suggestions below are attributed public examples, not a completed rotation.

Evidence checked 2026-10-28: Priest’s 170 HP and Smite come from the official menu research. The public Priest video includes a pet, but neither its title nor the menu proves the pet’s unlock or combat mechanics. Pet behavior is not a prerequisite for these plans.

Shadow plan: damage-over-time and its talent direction

The Priest class guide and the earlier public build research describe Shadow Word: Pain with a Shadowform direction. Start with the Smite available on a fresh character, inspect Shadow Word: Pain when offered, and follow the current Shadow talent prerequisites.

  • Use an upgrade to the available attack when the desired Shadow choice is missing. Random drafts do not guarantee a specific spell at a specific level.
  • When damage is sufficient but contact ends runs, compare Power Word: Shield or another defensive choice shown by the current client before adding more damage. The shield title is not a promise of permanent immunity.
  • Do not copy a complete Shadowform video onto a character without the required points. A capstone can change how a run opens; the default Smite card is the fresh-menu reference.

Discipline alternative and talent scope

Discipline, Holy and Shadow are the three trees recorded in the public class material. The research describes a Discipline/Penance direction as an alternative to the Shadow plan. Inspect Penance and the current shield-related talents if you want to compare recovery and protection with damage. No full Discipline allocation or current healing formula is supplied here.

A class can earn up to 51 points, not 51 points immediately. Spend according to the selected tree’s prerequisites; use the free respec rule to compare choices without pretending both complete trees fit at once. Lightwell appears in the public Priest material, but this page does not promise unverified party-healing behavior.

Gear, race, and the video example

If survival is the problem, compare defensive or recovery item properties first; if you already survive, compare support for the selected damage package. The racial reference provides health, damage-reduction and progression lines as conditional options. The exact racial values remain official single-source observations, and an available race or unlock must be established before planning around it.

Holdherhand’s Priest/panda-pet example was uploaded 26 October 2026; its game version is not established. It is a public Priest example, not proof that a particular pet is required or that its output belongs to Priest spells. CurseForge’s AzerothSurvivor is a different WoW addon; see the addon distinction.

Questions

What should a fresh Priest build toward?

The attributed Shadow plan looks at Shadow Word: Pain and Shadowform prerequisites. Compare a Discipline/Penance and shield direction if survival is the limiting problem. Begin with the available Smite rather than assuming capstones are unlocked.

Do I need the panda pet in the video?

No evidence here establishes that pet as a requirement for either Priest plan. Its unlock and combat contribution are not documented by this guide.

Sources and verification limits

Checked 2026-10-28. Two independent publishers are needed to call a claim confirmed. A menu, screenshot and script from Aethus count as one publisher. Exact menu HP, racial values and dated build identifiers are single-source observations. A video or a general game report does not independently verify every number. Missing values remain unreported; disagreements stay attributed.
